It all started when a Russian brother living in Lappeenranta, Finland, - Vitaly - has offered us his help with delivering
food to various Centers. After not so long period of planning and preparation we had our first trip ...
Early in the morning Vitaly has arrived from Finland with his minivan and we hooked up a Church-owned trailer. After an
hour of filling every bit of space within these vehicles with all kinds of food, which we receive also mostly from Finland,
we were ready to go.
Some space was left behind front seats for one passanger, and that happened to be me :) Not much, but good enough to go.
So we drove to Saint-Petersburg, passed around through the ring road (which took about one hour) and after couple of more
hours have reached our first point of destination.
Pavlovsk rehabilitation Center is full up to it's maximum capacity - 20 men. Needless to say, food from friends in Finland
is something they are so thankful to the Lord.
Here we have downloaded a little less than half of what we had. You can see here a happy director Jenya - this big a shipment
he receives for the first time!
Some years ago he used to be a drug-addict on the streets of Moscow. Then he came to a rehabilitation Center, Christ set
him free. Jenya matured, and two years ago was set to Pavlovsk to open a new Center from nothing. And now they have 20 men
and are preparing 2 others to be sent away with the same mission.
Walking around the center we saw through the window a new foundation they are working on. This is their dream - to build another
building for women rehabilitation.
After a meal we continued our way and in two more hours have reached Luga center - our biggest up to this date rehabilitation
facility on the North-West. Here we had nothing to download. We just walked around unrepaired rooms, which they have many,
talking and dreaming of how they can be used for the work of the Kingdom.
We also pictured a sleeping man - father of one of our brothers in Svetogorsk Church. He had arrived two days ahead of us
and had "delirium tremens", if you know what we talk about. His son brought him to the Center quite drunk and in
very, very poor health condition.
We pictured men on rehabilitation program (others are on adaptation - second stage of the whole thing).
and also women, who have their rehabilitation and adaptation programs combined in the same place.
