A day started early for us - we went crossed the border and went to Finland to get some food from a Christian Charitable organization,
so that we can later meet our friends from Sweden at the border and load food into their bus. Our Swedish friends have started
even earlier, a day before that.
It took us several hours to cross the border. Only by 2 o'clock at night were we able to reach Luga - the by far the largest
rehabilitation Center we have in Leningrad region. Together with rehabilitants we have been unloading second hand things and
food up until 4 o'clock at night.
Wow !!! We have a full room now of things! Praise the Lord. Although - this is not only for this Center - but for 4 others
in Leningrad region: Volhov, Tihvin, Pavlovsk and Priozersk. And for a Children's daycare Center in Ropsha.
Food was piled up on the second floor. "If we leave it all in this Center", director has said, "we would be
able to live three months on it"
Regardless of the fact that we were working untill late at night, next morning we got up at 8 and continued our way to Novgorod.
The work there is on the early stages of development. So we took some food with us and went there to see the work and to encourage
the brothers. As you can well understand, everybody was quite tired ...
So we all slept most of the way ...
Central Baptist Church in Novgorod looks great!! They call it "Church of Christ the Saviour". Here we were warmly
welcomed by a senior pastor of the regional Baptist Union.
He showed us the Church building, fed us and after that we have continued our way to the location of the Center, now in a
Church-owned minivan. We drove more than an hour over some "not very good" roads and finally arrived at the place.
The building has quite a potential, and they are starting the work there with a vision to have up to 50 people there on rehabilitation
and adaptation programs. At this time they have only some rooms functioning on the first floor.
Dead tired (as you can probably see on the pictures), but very happy we have returned back to Luga. Next morning we should
get up at 4am and start our way back to the border. Nevertheless, we didn't want to forget about some hand-made gifts to our
friends. Thank them for their courage and hard work for God and for salvation of many souls. And -- PRAISE THE LORD!
