Rehabilitation Ministry. An Open Door for Whom?

Regardless of what you may have heard about Russia, One thing you should be very positive about is the DOOR IS WIDE OPEN! There are enormous opportunities here today to help many thousands of people suffering from a social disaster. Now is the time to help them hear God's Word, to find the Way, the Truth and the Life, and to become witnesses of glorious freedom and restoration of many young lives.

We believe that God has opened a door for us to make a step of faith to ministry to the perishing because of the many evils of our time. And we also believe it is open for anyone who is willing to do the same. To join hands with us and to participate in this monumental harvest.

	WHAT WE HAVE NOW: 6 Rehabilitation Centers in Saint-Petersburg region, 2 in Novgorod, 2 in Vologda, one in Jaroslavl. One more in Saint-Petersburg region, one in Murmansk and one in Pskov are in the process. This means that at this time about 130 men and women receive help and hear God's Word in one of these Centers on a daily basis. In more than 25 places (of which we know about) regular counceling meetings are held for those seeking freedom from dependencies and their relatives. About 60 persons have been baptized into the local Churches as a result of this ministry (by June 2007).

SAINT-PETERSBURG REGION

	Luga center 25 men and women started in July 2004 This center is by far the largest of the facilities in the Leninigrad region, we need your help to renovate them allowing us to expand the work at this location.. This facility houses both men and women's rehabilitation ministry, and is the only women's facility functioning at this time. In July of 2007, a church plant was started at this location for members of the center, and for the surrounding villages.   Volhov center 14 men started in 2004 City authorities have given us a building which previously used to be a small prison. It is situated right in the center of Volhov.   Tihvin center 5 men A small single house in a village 15 km. away from Tihvin was donated for our work by a pastor of the Baptist Church in Tihvin.   Priozersk center 10 men started in October 2006 Present location of the center is temporary. Waiting to receive something permanent, as one Russian businessman has promised us.   Pavlovsk center 17 men started in May 2005 A new building is being erected nearby to expand center's capacity.   Vyborg Center 17 men started in May 2007 Plans are to erect nearby another building for women rehabilitation, with a possibility to admit 15-20 women.

NOVGOROD REGION

	Center in Vibiti 13 men started in 2003 One of the best leaders from the Saint-Petersburg region was sent to Vibiti with a mission to start rehabilitation work all over the Novgorod region.   New Center in Borovichi 5 men started in March 2007 Work has begun on the large, over 100 year old center at Borovichi

It's quite old, 1984, but with no rust at all and good working diesel engine. We are already using it widely. Please, pray for some minor repairs which remain to be done with it. ------------------------------------ April 30 Valentine went to a rehabilitation center 8 months ago. Today his term of staying there has finished and he has returned home, where his mother have been faithfully visiting Christian meetings and hearing the word of the Lord. One more young man - Kirill - is going to return this week from rehabilitation center to Vyborg, his home town. ------------------------------------ April 25 God answered a our need with a vehicle in Vyborg Rehabilitation Center and through our Christian friends from Sweden and USA made it possible to purchase this wonderfull Volkswagen Transporter. Please, pray for some minor repairs which remain to be done with it. ------------------------------------ April 12-13 This trip took us 1000 km. east from Saint-Petersburg, to KOMI republic of Russia. We had wonderfull time with pastors there and were testifying of the what God is doing in our days through rehabilitation ministry. Their response was overwhelming! As a result -- they are starting to work with dependent people in two largest cities and will be sending them first to Rehabilitation centers of Leningrad region. While preparing grounds for starting a local one. used syringes across from the Central Church building ------------------------------------ April 4 Senior presbyter over the North-West region of Russia Victor Sipko together with Vladimir Ezhov, director of "Good Samaritan" ministry have visited Kaliningrad -- the most "European" part of Russia. During their three day visit they have discussed with local Church leadership plans for starting Rehabilitation ministry there. Deployment of a team of brothers from Saint-Petersburg region to Kaliningrad with a purpose of organizing there a Rehabilitation center is planned on the beginning of June. ------------------------------------ March 27 A first "social" Church is getting ready to start in Vyborg and is looking for a building. It's membership is made of ex addicts and their relatives, who are coming to Christ through Rehabilitation ministry. Please pray, that the Lord would provide with a possibility to purchase Church facilities which are on sale right now by their previous owners.
